Emmett Merrill is an artist and printmaker based in St. Louis, Missouri. He received his BFA in printmaking from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2015 shortly before working as a press assistant at Tom Huck’s Evil Prints. During his time at Evil Prints, Emmett divided his time between carving woodcuts and traveling with the rest of the print crew to artist events across the country.
His work has been featured in solo shows at the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center as well as the Beco Gallery in Kansas City in 2014 and 2015. His prints were also included in the juried exhibition Span; In Contemporary American Printmaking at the Guan Lan print center in Guan Lan, China. More recently, Emmett’s work was published in Frontera, a bilingual literary magazine based in Madrid, Spain. He is currently working towards an MFA in printmaking at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
